Work Programme

Important notice: Referrals to this programme ended on 31 March 2017.

Vedas are committed to reducing unemployment and successfully helping people into work. We do this through a number of employment initiatives including the Work Programme which we deliver on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and Jobcentre Plus.

The Work Programme brings together many of the best features of previous back to work programmes and combines them with some new approaches to create one, overarching initiative.

If you take part in the Work Programme, you’ll get better and more varied support than ever before, and it will be tailored to your needs.

At Vedas, we’ll take the time to understand what assistance you need, and then we’ll help you with any barriers you may have experienced. We may even refer you to one of our specialist partners to support any barriers relating to housing, debt, benefits, health, wellbeing – and much more.

The most important thing to remember – if you really want to get into work – is that we will do everything possible to help you achieve your goals.

Through the Work Programme at Vedas you will have access to the following support:

  • One-to-one support from an Employment Advisor
  • Advice on job searching, CV writing and interview techniques
  • Development programmes on confidence building, overcoming barriers, building self-esteem, ICT/digital skills, communication and sector specific pre-employment advice
  • Access to vacancies throughout East Lancashire
  • Access to computers and telephones to help you find and apply for jobs
  • Referral to our specialist partners for advice on areas such as housing, debt, benefits, health and wellbeing
  • Financial assessments
  • Continued support when you are in work
